Thinking About Selling Your Vehicle with Just JDM Cars?
To ensure the best possible experience, take a moment to read the guide below on how to sell your vehicle efficiently.
Make the Most of Your Photos
On Just JDM Cars, your vehicle listing includes:
- 6 photos with the Free package
- 12 photos with the Value package
- Unlimited photos with the Premium package
Our research shows that the more photos you include, the faster your vehicle will sell.
We recommend capturing at least the following angles:
- Side view
- Front view
- Rear view
- Front ¾ angle
- Interior view
- Engine view
For larger packages, it’s also beneficial to showcase the standout features of your vehicle.
Detailed Descriptions Matter
While photos are essential, adding a detailed and accurate description significantly improves your chances of selling. Make sure all information is 100% accurate to avoid complications and ensure a smooth transaction.
Clean Your Vehicle
A dirty vehicle won’t attract buyers. Take the time to wash, dry, and wax your car. Don’t forget to clean the windows and tires as well.
Photo Size & Orientation
Adjust your camera settings to capture the largest possible image size. Modern smartphones are great for this. Before taking photos, check your camera settings. Images of at least 1MB are recommended, and landscape orientation is preferable over portrait.
Best Time to Take Photos
The best time to take vehicle photos is:
- Early morning or late afternoon to avoid harsh sunlight.
- On a cloudy day, as the diffused light reduces glare and enhances clarity.
Location & Background
Choose an open space with minimal distractions in the background. Avoid locations with houses, trees, or other vehicles. Do not park your car on grass, as it can reflect on the paintwork. Center your vehicle in the frame with some background space. If you’re familiar with photography settings, use a lower f-stop to blur the background and bring more focus to your vehicle.
Angles & Camera Height
Classic angles work best, such as:
- Front view
- Front ¾ view
- Rear view
However, adjusting the camera height can create a more dynamic effect.
- Shooting from a lower level exaggerates proportions, making your car look bigger and more impressive.
- Shooting from above (e.g., using a step ladder) creates a bird’s-eye view for a unique perspective.
Ensure that the entire vehicle is in the frame. If taking a ground-level shot, try to capture all four wheels.
Showcase Standout Features
Take photos of any unique exterior and interior features. If your car has been modified, be sure to highlight these modifications with photos. Additionally, include photos of any dents or rust spots to maintain transparency with potential buyers.
Other Important Details
Capture interior shots as well as the engine bay. Ensure the steering wheel is straight and the interior is clean. Taking a good engine photo can be tricky—open the hood as much as possible to let in more light. Avoid eye-level shots; instead, take the picture from above for better clarity. Be mindful of your shadow in the photos and turn off the flash to prevent harsh lighting effects.
Avoid taking photos in a garage or shed, where shadows may obscure parts of the vehicle.
